My billionaire ex-husband thought I still regretted losing him… until three children jumped out of a Bentley yelling, “Mommy!”

She saw the man who had preferred rumors to his truth.

The flight attendant checked her ticket.

“Mr. Montes de Oca, this is your seat.”

Of course, it was the empty seat next to his.

Alejandro smiled slightly. “It looks like we’ll have time to talk.”

Valeria closed her book. “We stopped talking five years ago.”

"No," he said. "You left without giving any explanation."

Her fingers tightened around the lid.

There it was again: the old accusation.

Years ago, they had been the perfect couple. Alejandro founded his company from scratch, and Valeria, an engineer, helped design the technology that made it famous. But with success came pride, status, and the constant poison of his mother.

One rainy night, Alejandro found messages on Valeria's phone from Dr. Emiliano Vargas.

“Did you tell him/her yet?”

“He has a right to know.”

Instead of listening to her, Alexander accused her of treason.

Valeria begged him to sit down and listen to the truth.

He refused.

A month later, she signed the divorce papers, taking no money, no property, no stocks; just a suitcase, her notebooks, and the secret he had refused to hear.

Now, five years later, Alejandro was studying it.

“You disappeared.”

“I survived.”

"With you?"

Valeria turned towards the window.

“You keep asking the wrong question.”

When they landed in Monterrey, Valeria tried to breathe. Her children were waiting for her. That was all that mattered.

As we left the airport, a black Bentley stopped.

Three small children ran away.

"Mother!"

Valeria's face softened instantly. One of them hugged her around the waist. Another took her hand. The youngest clung to her legs, laughing.
Alejandro froze.

The boys had Valeria's eyes.

But everything else was his.

Dark hair.

The chin.

The smile from her own childhood photos.
